LAPD’s “See Something Say Something” App
The LAPD has launched an App for the community to report suspicious behavior or activity that may have a connection to terrorism.
Go to the iWATCH LA web page to download an IOS or Android version, or on your smartphone scan the QR codes to the right.
Reporting is easy with the iWATCH App. Community reporting can help detect terrorism in the planning stages.
All reports are reviewed by trained counter-terrorism officers and the LAPD, and all reports are important ways for the Bureau to detect possible terrorist activity in the planning stages.
On the app, the public can learn more about behaviors and activities that have been linked to terrorism. All reports are important and if someone isn’t sure, report the activity and let the experts decide.
iWATCH is the reporting tool for the LA Region for the LAPD and LA Sheriff. Reports outside the LA Region will be sent to the proper agencies.
Here are examples of behaviors and activities the LAPD wants you to report:
- People drawing or measuring important buildings.
- Strangers asking questions about security or building security procedures.
- Briefcase, suitcase, backpack, or package left behind.
- Cars or trucks left in No Parking zones in front of important buildings.
- Intruders in secure areas where they are not supposed to be.
- Chemical smells or fumes that worry you.
- People asking questions about sensitive information such as building blueprints, security plans, or VIP travel schedules without a right or need to know.
- Purchasing supplies or equipment that can be used to make bombs or weapons or purchasing uniforms without having the proper credentials.
